Frequently Asked Questions
Each act will have 5-6 speakers and a performance. Each act will run about 90 mins in length separated by a 30 minute intermission.
TEDxUofA will be General Admission. Therefore, there will not be assigned seats. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. and Act 1 will begin at 2:00 p.m.
If you are late, you will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager. Sometimes this means you will have to wait for a break in the talks to be seated. You will be seated in the first available seat. As a courtesy to other guests, speakers, and performers, we ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the show.
We encourage you to use Tyndall Avenue Garage for the most convenient parking. The Tyndall Garage is most easily accessed from Euclid Ave. at Fourth St. Regular parking fees apply and can be purchased at the garage.
Additional garages within easy walking distance to Centennial Hall are the Park Avenue Garage (at Park Ave. and Speedway Blvd.), the Main Gate Garage (at Euclid Ave. and Second Street), the Sixth Street Garage (on 6th Street between Highland Ave. and Park Ave.) and the Second Street Garage behind the UA Administration building.

For our patrons who are Deaf/hard of hearing, Centennial Hall offers an Assistive Listening Device (ALD) for rent in the lobby before the performance. This system uses headphone technology to clarify and strengthen the sound system in the theatre. You will be required to leave a photo ID to rent the ALD device. There is no charge for the rental however quantities are limited, and the devices are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
We have wheelchair and companion seating available for each speaker session. We can also make accommodations for ASL interpretation and captioning by request through the Centennial Hall Ticket Office. If you need an accommodation, please call the box office at 520-621-3341.
In order to create a safe, enjoyable experience for all our guests, Centennial Hall has implemented the following security policies:
Anyone entering premises is subject to a search of personal belongings, including but not limited to inspection of bags, purses, strollers, coats, hats, and wheelchairs.
Bags larger than 12” x 6” x 12” are not permitted.
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection, including but not limited to oxygen tanks, diabetes kits, allergy pens, etc.
Centennial Hall will not safeguard any personal belongings or items of any type.
All persons are subject to Arizona Board of Regents and University of Arizona rules and regulations, and the laws of the State of Arizona. The University may revoke the ticket license and eject or refuse entry to persons for violation of these rules, regulations, and laws, disruptive behavior, illegal activity, or other misconduct.
All patrons and their belongings are subject to search upon entering Centennial Hall. By entering our venue, you consent to such screenings which may include bag checks and the use of metal detectors.
The following items are prohibited in Centennial Hall:
- Bags larger than 12” x 6” x 12”
- Backpacks
- Knives
- Weapons of any kind, including but not limited to firearms (permitted or not)
- Video and audio recorders
- Professional quality camera equipment
- Selfie sticks/poles
- Glass or metal containers
- Coolers
- Any outside food or drink, however, medically necessary items will be permitted after proper inspection.
- Illegal drugs or substances
- Folding chairs, seat backs, or seat cushions
- Long golf umbrellas
- Laser pointers
- Fireworks
- Noisemakers or horns
- Signs, posters, banners, balloons and flags
- Personal transportation device (i.e. skateboard, bicycle, hoverboard, etc.) that is not required due to disability.
- Parcels, packages, and any items the contents of which are not displayed
- Centennial Hall Staff cannot accept gifts of any kind for the entertainer(s)
Centennial Hall reserves the right to restrict any other items that could pose a safety hazard or restrict the enjoyment of another guest.
