Mikayla Mace Kelley works with scientists to share their fascinating research with reporters and the public in an accessible way. She earned her bachelor's degree in neuroscience and cognitive science with a minor in astronomy and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Arizona. Mikayla worked as a science, health and higher education news reporter in Tucson before returning to the university as a science writer in the Office of University Communications. There, she has covered some of the university's biggest science news, including the launch and first images of the James Webb Space Telescope, the unveiling of the black hole at the center of the Milky Way, and, of course, the OSIRIS-REx sample return mission.
